Art of Animation Resort Review: 5 Reasons You’ll Love It
We stayed at the Art of Animation in June of 2023 and my mother actually liked it more for our family than she did the Polynesean, mainly because there was so much extra space. The theming is on point as well, with birds that even say “mine, mine, mine” throughout the day. This is our Art of Animation Resort review. Need more Disney inspiration? Overview of the Art of Animation Resort Review
You’ll love the Art of Animation because the family suites are spacious and with four girls having two bathrooms is a major plus.
These resorts are geared towards families with smaller children (for example, the pool stay relatively shallow and large with no slides) but if you’re here for the parks and the parks only, this might be a great place to rest your head while assuring you get that early theme park entry!
There are four sections in the resort, each based on a movie: Cars, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid. The first three are suites, and the latter is your standard hotel room.
Art of Animation Rooms
They are immersive.
The Little Mermaid-themed rooms are pretty standard, with the option of a king-sized bed or two queens. They are the furthest away from the main building as well as the skyliner.

Where it’s really at is the suites, though. They offer three sleeping areas, two full baths, and a kitchenette, accommodating up to six people. We stayed here in June 2023, and it couldn’t have been better since our Bs (Brandon and Breanna) really love cars! The sofa pulls out into a bed, and there is also a Murphy bed that converts into a seating area. This accommodated our family of five (three adults, two teens) perfectly.
Amenities and Recreation at the Art of Animation
- The Big Blue Pool is the largest pool at any of the hotels on property. Nowhere inside the pool is taller than about five feet- meaning my crew could swim comfortably. There is also the schoolyard sprayground, which is voted one of the best splash pads at Disneyworld.
Looking for something a bit less crowded? Check out the Cozy Cone or Flippin Fins pools. - Its not uncommon to find other great activities happening at the Art of Animation. In most of the entrances there will be a list of activities including movies by the pool, yoga, crafts, and more!

Dining at the Art of Animation
From what we saw, the food here is typical for a family with small children. There were options like pizza, burgers, and chicken strips. I’ve heard that there is a broader selection, though, with other options such as Indian inspired dishes.
I will say, their desserts did have me drooling a bit, though!
There is also the Drop Off Pool Bar located by the Big Blue Pool which offers frozen cocktails the adults to winddown with their little ones.

Transportation
One of the biggest perks of staying at the Art of Animation is that there is access to the Skyliner from your hotel. From the Skyliner, you can get to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We also used it to go to Caribbean Beach Resort, where we met up with the buses to go to Disney Springs.
Not going to a Skyliner destination? The bus is your best bet. Art of Animation hotel guests have the advantage of not sharing a bus with guests from another hotel.
Our Final Thoughts on Art of Animation Resort Review
This hotel is perfect if you have littles, don’t need all the extras, or want more space. The ammenitites are not as great but the themeing is on point so it’s a matter of what you want.
I will say, as of this writing, I would probably pick Art of Animation over Coranado because of the price versus what you get. So- if you’re looking for a “budget” hotel on property, this should be your go-to!
